The Joe P. Collins memorial car & truck show has come...and now gone. It was a success. Despite competing with many other high-caliber car show around Texas and Louisiana we yielded a total of 57 vehicles in our car show. That's actually a good number for an east Texas event. All proceeds went to Hospice in the Pines. This was my very first show to ever coordinate and I thought this was a milestone for me as a rookie-coordinator.

Some of the winners include:
Restored Police Car 1st plc, Tom Mallette of Houston, TX: 1989 TX DPS Mustang
Best Corvette, Walter Overstreet of Zavalla, TX: 1972 Chev. Corvette
Coordinator's Choice & 2nd place, Mike M. of Houston, TX: 2008 Mustang Bullitt
People's Choice, Kay Brock of Broaddus, TX: 1957 Chevrolet Sedan
Police Officer's Pick, Bruce Ashley of Crockett, TX: 1955 Ford Victoria
Best Mustang, Todd Quick of Beaumont, TX: 1969 Mustang Fastback

Best Foreign Vehicle, Frank Castleman of The Woodlands, TX: 1976 Datsun 240Z
Best Camaro, Peg Englebrecht of Lufkin, TX: 1985 Chev IROC Z28 (11,000 org miles)
Late Model Mustang, Brett Summerman of Waco, TX: 2007 Mustang Cobra

There were many more. We will be doing it again next year with a new location and new date and more classes and nicer trophies.
Hope to see some of you in the near future.

Congratulations Roman! It sounds like you had a great show and the weather was definitely perfect. It takes a tremendous amount of hard work to put on a car show. Good job! 'yaa'

I'm sorry that I could not make it to the show. I had wayyyy too many family commitments this last weekend to get away from the house. Hopefully, next year a bunch of MOET members will be able to attend.
