Purchased summer of '08 with plans to finish the car by June '09 to run on the track at Hallett.  The car started as a '65 6cyl convertible & has been updated to reflect the changes to a V8 car.  The engine, trans (top loader 4spd) & 9" rearend are from a 30K mile GT HiPo convertible.  The wheels allegedly came from an authentic Shelby, however, do not have documentation (yet!) to substantiate that claim.  The car has been in the east Texas area for about 30 years or so.
The engine has been disassembled & examined to determine its origin.  As it turns out, the engine is, in fact, a hipo with orange paint markings inside to substantiate the authenticity.  The engine is currently (as of 2-09) in the process of being reassembled.
May 16 - Cranked it up!  Thanks to help from Eddy Franks with the engine build, Craig Chesley with wiring, Mark Whitt, John Prichard, & Les Jeffcoat for installation!
Now the question is - can I get it together for Tulsa?  The answer is going to be YES! (may have to push it though!)
