| Thanks for your reply and the welcome!! I saw a feature on a red and gold Hertz car and I knew I wanted that color combo. And my car is an automatic so I assumed that a later colored hertz car would work nicely for that. Funny thing though after building the car myself it became known a the 49er car. And being origionaly from Texas I detested that team..! Now I have begun pulling for the 4ers and have gone to some games. But they still need more help than I can give them.. Back to the car...Another difficult thing about building the car was changing out the very nice origional black Pony Interior with air conditioning..For black 66 standard without air. But I had decided that I wanted the car to look as real as possible. Red oxide, Overspray, Undercarriage markings and all !! I even had a recked 66 parts car and changed every bolt that varied from 5-6 IE Fenders ect.. There are quite a few.. The only cosmetic variation from origional is the modern R-model front valence to help it run cooler. plus if it were available in 66 I believe Shelby himself would have used it.
